Just a quick update post. I have recently started serving as the 2015-2016 Campus Representative from the University of Windsor Psychology Department for the Advocacy Coordinating Team (American Psychological Association of Graduate Students; ACT-APAGS). The Advocacy Coordinating Team is a network of graduate students who advocate on various issues impacting psychological science and those it serves. Many issues taken up by the ACT-APAGS deal with issues facing our American colleagues. However, many of the same issues impact us as Canadian practitioners and throughout my term I will keep the department informed of ongoing advocacy efforts, pass along information about becoming a member of the APA and APAGS, as well as information about the annual convention (hosted this year in Toronto!), and issues that are impacting us locally.
I look forward to serving the campus community and welcome suggestions about issues that are important to you as a students, researchers or practitioners of psychology.
